ALL THE MARBLES
Are you all in?
What if the road to disciple your children began with you? In your living room? With you leading the conversation? All The Marbles is an online resource meant to challenge families to spend intentional time together, meeting their children where they are at, showing them and teaching them the love of Jesus. You have your child in your home for 365 days a year for 18 years--are you willing to go all out to disciple them, are you willing to invest “ALL THE MARBLES” in discipling them? Visually if you have a jar full of 6,570 marble (365 days x 18 years)and you pull one marble out a day and you ask yourself, “did I disciple and love well today?” What if, you intentionally disciple them to love God and others with all they have? What if you invested “ALL THE MARBLES” in the disciples that God has given you? Whom God has called He has equipped! These resources are to help you jump start the disciple process.

EQUIPPING TOMORROW IN LIGHT OF ETERNITY

Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.
Deuteronomy 6:4-9
WHO WE ARE
Linda Prillaman
After working for 15 years at Ernst & Young, 10 in their learning division, I tried to home school my 3 girls thinking “how hard could this be?” After 1 hour on the first day, I realized two things (1) teachers are under appreciated and (2) I did not want to be their teacher of academic material.
So, I relinquished the teaching of academics to those educated in academics.
Today, on the other side of 50, I realized I also relinquished the Discipling (how to be a follower of Jesus) of my children, to the church, the “experts.” In fact I became so passionate about discipling children I switched my life mission from CPA to Children’s Pastor/Director. Without even realizing it I let others (very qualified and some of my best friends!!) take over my job to disciple those given to me, literally given to me by Jesus.
WHERE DOES IT BEGIN?
How often have your children asked you a question about the Gospel that you did not know the answer too? And how many times did you take the time to really search for the answer? And to take it a step further, how often have you included your child in that search?
What if, as parents YOU disciple the most important people in your lives!! What if on Sundays you watch the “adult” services together and you pause to look up and discuss what the pastor is saying or what the words to a song are really all about? With out dumbing it down?
What if, when you struggle for an answer you phone a grandparent and ask for their thoughts?
What if, you share your faith story with them, and their grandparents?
What if, when you are doing worksheets you examine what they are learning and you approach it from a follower of Jesus viewpoint?
What if, you do Ministry with your family?
MARBLES
If you look at every day of your child's life as a marble, we have the potential to disciple our children 365 days a year, for 18 years. There are no guarantees, everyday is a blessing, but the potential is there. We have an incredible opportunity for 6,570 days to teach them Truth.
What if, we committed to going for "All the Marbles," and did something each day, engaging in intentional discipling moments, living out Deut 6:4-9?
What if, instead of 1 hour on Sunday (which is important too!!!) you walked and talked with them about being disciples?
There are tons of great resources out there BUT if you are a believer, you have all you need! Now is a great time to be a Disciple maker as you walk, talk and live out your faith 24/7 with your kids. The best part is, you are going to get frustrated, angry, disappointed, but when you do, STOP and teach your kids about how you feel and as people living in this fallen world we are not perfect, walk them through the best ways to respond.
This is not a task that is done one time and checked off. It requires daily pouring into. Are you up to the challenge to invest "All the Marbles?"
